I'm replacing a cracked headlight lens on my 2g, I have the headlight assembly out and understand how to remove the lens but my question is there some type of glue or something that I need to put in between the new lens and the housing? I know it's probably in the chilton but my friend has mine at the moment

When I resealed my headlights, I used clear silicone (caulking type). There are numerous things you can use. Silicone, silicone RTV, some Nissan stuff (made for resealing headlights - what the factory uses but is expensive). You can search here or a search engine for 'reseal headlights' (or something like that) and see what pops up.
