Head Studs

What kind/size ratchet do i use to get the bolts off stock head studs on a 98 7 bolt motor? I am in the process of moving and cant get to my tools so i need to borrow some from a friends and was just wondering the kind and size?

The ones that were on my car when I pulled my head used an allen wrench. No idea on size, but it was quite large.

I'm pretty sure its a 3/8" or 10mm hex head (allen wrench)

I used one like this and put it on an extension to get down in the head.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the stock 7 bolt ones head bolts, not studs?

Mine were just 11mm bolts screwed into the block

^Correct. They are 11mm head bolts, not studs.

The 6 bolts have 12mm head bolts.

it is either a 12 or 13 mm socket. I would use a 1/2 drive though and a breaker bar cause they don't come out easy. Also remember to follow the bolt pattern when removing so you dont warp the head.
