Head rebuilt

ok so my head was just rebuilt all new intake valves and springs and sand blasted to look nice and clean and all new gaskets on everything including the fuel injectors which are really just the o rings but oil is full and it cranks and starts timing is set correctly i just want to know if my friend who did all the work is right about having to take the whole day to make sure everything is running good and basically i cant drive it until like a full day of that...shouldn't it be only like 2-3 hours of making sure everything is good after it starts and is running ?

If everything is good drive it but once you start you need to find any leaks if any, make sure you go over everything

so if everything is good and runs for 30 mins and more it should be completely good and doesnt need to take the whole ####en day to do stuff right ?

If your friend is the one who did all the work then it's his ass that is on the line. Let him do his thing. This coming from a mechanic who works on all his buddies cars. But in my opinion, no it shouldn't take the whole day.

what exactly would he be looking for and how long should it usually take like i mean i doubt it should be any more then 3 hours of driving and testing and bs

Why are you complaining? Seems like your friend did all the work and just trying to make sure everything checks out for you.

Any leaks would be obvious for fuel and oil would need a full RPM range to test for leaks. Coolant would burn out.

If he wants a whole day then it might be to retorque the head studs after a heat cycle.

Your buddy probably wants to take his time in doing things right which is totally understandable.
Why does it need to take time 3+ hours? Seems like your just a little anxious to start driving, so my question is, why cant you patiently wait 3+ hours??? The guy is your buddy give him time

well the kid promised this thing finished a week ago and im giving him 500 for taking the head out and putting back in then i gave 200 for the gaskets, seals, NGK spark plugs, and 2 belts. then 430 for all new intake valves and springs and resurfacing of the head so its basically nice and new

haha a little hes actaully one of my good friends and right now it wont start bc of one the pulleys or some shit idk kinda sucks ive been waiting mad long to get it back up

that's pretty cool that your friend is helping you. i wish i had my own garage so i could stop asking others to do the work I want...

but at any rate, hope all goes well.
