Head porting, too far?

First time porting on any aluminum head. I think i might have gone too far. I'm used to old iron junk and just about port matched the gasket. you can kinda see the black in the pic where the edge of the gasket sits. Did i go too far and kill this head? I'm planning to use a tubular manifold also.

Looke at this recent and still running thread. You may have gone too far with the runner floor. Do you plan on camming? Plus, sheet metal intake mani, raising your rev limit, and huge turbo?
 
It looks like you can get away with this. The average people can just touch up the head with a sanding roll and nothing else. The heads are pretty good from the factory so all you really need is some polishing up not a whole lot of porting
 
as long as you didnt run into any water jackets your fine, it does look like you went a bit too far on the floor though, you should have just gasket matched it, that might hurt you a bit. u bette rplan on having a head built from hell with a monster snail and a 9 grand redline to get it to flow through that. just make sure that you have a good radius on the floor of the port going into the combustion chamber, if its too flat youll have the air on the roof and the air on the floor colliding causing mad turbulance. i did a lot of test and tune on a flowbench with these heads and found that hogging the hell out of it really didnt help as much as i thought it would on cfm flow, but itll make up for it if you have a kick ass setup to back it up. also, make sure you take the lip out on the bowels where the seat meets it, thats where i picked up the most gain, especially on the intake, almost a 25 cfm gain from just that on the intake side.
 
Thanks for the input. just to clarify i didn't even quite gasket match. you can see in the pic where my sharpie line is. gasket was just outside that line... think i should just start over and be a little nicer to a new head? no hurry. just for motor slowly coming along in my garage. not sure what i'm planning yet, 350 to the wheels would be nice, this actually needs to remain a dependable daily driver. LOL.
 
thats the exhaust side, right?

has to be since the bolts on the intake side are next to and below the runners, not above.

Yes thats the exhaust side.

It does look like you went a little far on the floor of the runner, but should be ok. Just throw some copper sealant on there when you put her back on along with the gasket.
