Head gasket?

When leaving work the other day my cooling fans wouldn't come on and the car started to overheat. It only overheated long enough to loop around the block to pull back into the shop where I work. Just a normal street block. Would that be enough time to blow a head gasket? Less the a couple minutes time. I think I might have low compression in one cylinder, having it checked by a buddy who owns another shop right now. Got new plugs and wires but there is a miss on one hole. The plugs good, and the wires getting spark when unplugged from the plug. Injector seems to be working. Basically if I unplug the wire the car stays running on that one hole, but if I unplug the ones on the others the car immediately dies. All individually of course. Same exact thing goes for the injectors. All make the car die except for that one. Was leaning towards a blown headgasket causing bad compression. Didnt see any milky oil though. Any ideas?

About as long as it took you to noice it was over heating.

It dose not take long for a head to warp.

Still perform a leak down test to confirm.

Yea I've dealt with a warped head before caused by overheating. It doesn't necessarily mean the head warped though does it. I mean a head gasket can blow without warping the head right? But does a salted head or blown gasket always mean there will be coolant in the oil, or not 100the percent everytime?

Okay what all does a leak down test consist of? I searched and found things on it but not a procedure. Im having a buddy down the road check compression if that is one of the parts of a leak down check.

Yea but does overheating always mean a warped head, isn't it possible to have a blown gasket without a warped head? Also does a blow gasket or salted head ALWAYS mean there will be coolant leaking into the oil?
In order...no; yes, no.

Now; leakdown. Asking the same question over and over while ignoring advice has me suspicious your upping your post count...

Compression testing is not the same, though I'd do both...and did when my HG pooped the bed. Compression was fine, leakdown told the real story.

No no man im really not worried about post count at all. Nor do I know of any benefits of having a higher post count. Im in my cell phone and for some reason it didn't show that previous post after I tried to post it. So I typed it again, re posted it, and when I did that the other one showed up. My bad, honestly not trying to do that, or ignore advice at all.

Im happy to take all advice or criticism but im still not sure what all a leak down test consists of. Or the procedure in which to do it?

Wow, just that short paragraph was very informative. Thanks a lot. Maybe I cam talk my buddy into doing that for me also
Would love to do it all myself but with a newborn there's not much spare time. Thanks for all the advice fellas

I swapped it for a vid I thought was more applicable.

Mechanics will do this for a low rate, in most cases, if you don't have the time.

Thanks for clearing up the multi-posting bit!

Even better. Talked to my buddy, got him doing that for me also.

Not a problem about the double post. I guess people really do that huh? Lol I really don't know nor care about the benefits of having a lot if posts. Just like the good info on here!

Ya sounds like a HG to me. Do what these ^^ guys have said and you will deffidently find out if it is or isnt. But make sure you do a leakdown test because I did a compression test( a few different times wet,dry ect) and it kept coming back with good results. But I finally got around to doing a leakdown test and sure enough my HG was blown :(( so listen to these guys and let us know if that doesnt turn out to be the problem. good luck bro
