So Just wondering are these thing suppose to be a pain to remove.
I have the correct size hex head but it seems like I am going to strip them if
I keep trying to get them to turn. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get them out or make it easier to get them out?

Go to O'Rielly or some auto parts store and pick up some Penetrating Oil, gets stuck on exhaust bolt off with a socket(no extra leverage either)

PB Blaster i would recommend.

EDIT: use the pipe method. Find yourself something that will give yourself lots of leverage after you spray it. Slip a 1" wrench or a pipe over one end and angle the leverage item and turn it that way.

Penetrating oil really isn't going to help with head bolts. They are already coated with oil. Just get a good quality 10mm allen socket and they will come right out with a breaker bar.

Exactly, the more leverage the less force is needed to accomplish the work.

- no pun intended...

Ok so are these things back threaded or something I still can not get them to break seems like they are just starting to slip like they are stripping just a little bit by the way it's a 10mm I think mine are like a 6mm or something small like that.

If you are having problems getting them out i would soak it in PB blaster overnight then have a go...As for the bolt heads stripping i would get one size bigger allen head or even try a standard size as they are only off by a bit the hit your extension with a hammer to jam that thing down in there. Thats what i did with mine I had the same problem when i blew my first head gasket. Good Luck I know this is a pain.

IF you have a 7 bolt in there than it will have a 12 point socket head. 6 bolts use a 10mm allen. It is a 12 or 13mm socket for the bolts. Which are you working with? They will be tight as hell but they will come out.

Again, there is constantly oil soaking these bolts while the car is running, how do you expect penetrating oil to make any kind of a difference? The reason that the bolts are tight is because they are stretched, not because the threads are rusty or corroded.

Get a breaker bar to help get them out if need be, be careful not to damage the head surface when you pull it off, be prepared to lay it on some cardboard.

Hey i just thought of this....Are you sure that they aren't studs? ARP's have an allen key on the stud but theres a 12mm or 14mm nut that holds the head on...If the allen key is smaller than a ten it has to have studs. I have never seen smaller than a ten allen on any stock head that ive ever pulled. Good luck
PB blaster is magnetic! You can add all the oil you want to a bolt you can't break loose and it won't do squat! Spray it with some PB blaster and let it sit and BOOM!!! ???think about it yo????

Your exactly right I found that out it just didn't look like studs.
Thanks for the help
