Ive replaced the shifter bearings with polyurthane. Still sometimes even at a complete stop its hard to shift into first. Almost every time I shift into 2nd its a "CLUNK" shift. the car has almost a brand new clutch and supposedly has a feshly rebuilt tranny. Soon as i have the cash im going to get the tranny flushed with Pennzoil Synchro and see if that helps any, any other thoughts?

the "freshly rebuilt" tranny is probally not that at all. most likely the tranny is just old and the sychros are going, but try changing the tranny fluid and putting something good in.

i get a lil chunky in sesond gear ive been told its the syncro in the transmision what kind of clutch should i get for a 97 eclipse rs i want to upgrande but nothing to beefy but i want to fix this iratating problem before it gets worse should i re build ? and what should i make sure gets replaced correctly? :dsm:

ok first things first. your chunky shifting into second gear is not your clutch its your syncro. u dont need a new clutch unless its slipping. just get some new gear lube and your problems are solved :talon: :thumb:
