a bov on a fwd 1g turbo auto, what does it release at? i installed a mbc and i cant get my boost over 8psi. is there a problem with the mbc, or can the tiny turbo not put out any more than this, or is the the actuator?

how do you know? you have a boost gauge?

well anyways thoughts... from what I know, the 1g BOV is fine for boosting near 20 psi... I say maybe check your vacuum hoses.

The BOV wouldn't release at 8 psi anyways. It only opens when you let off the throttle, or you exceed it's capabilities. (cetrainly not 8 psi on a 1g BOV) The stock "boost gague" is horribly innacurate anyways, so you need an aftermarket one. If you still can't get over 8 psi, you either installed the MBC wrong, or you have a boost leak. Or what he said. ^^^.

Its the wastegate that controls boost not the BOV, perhaps your issue lies in that area.
