really noobish question

alright...im gunna put it strait out there... i know close to nothing about DSMs... or cars at that.... what exactly is needed to put exaust on my car... i know i could get headers... but its not needed... but im not sure of the piping/muffler i need. please look past my lack there of and help me.

I will warn you that once you start down the dark road of car modification, you can't turn back. I find myself thinking of all types of cars and modifications in my spare time, even when I'm not really thinking anything. It can haunt you a bit.

As for your car:
There are basically 3 parts for your exhaust. Cat-back, Header, and Cat. You should preform these in this order. From the order of flow however it goes like this. Your car, after the 4 cycle process, pushes the exhaust into the header, which routes the gas through the cat to clean the gas, and then through the cat back, which includes the resonators and muffler.

www.vfaq.com is an AWESOME site with tons of valuable info as well as pics and guides how to do most of the things you'd want to do.

These forums are huge, and most likely if there's anything you want to do with your DSM it has already been done. So use SEARCH, and go to the links I gave you and explore everything.
