I recently picked up a used GVR4 1st gear and input shaft for a rebuild on a 2nd gen AWD trans.

Putting it all together I found that the bearing plate would not line up with the input/intermediate shafts. If memory serves me correct the 1st gear should have one less tooth then the stock one, which this one does. Now the input shaft I found has one more tooth on the second gear then the original input shaft. Does anybody know if this is correct or what input shaft do I have?

Please take a picture of the input shaft and 1st gear so I can see the gear profiles. Count the number of teeth on the shaft for 1st and 2nd as well as the gear itself. Either you have an Evo 1 input shaft or you have a wrong profile 2nd gear being used with it. If it is an Evo 1 input shaft you will need the matching Evo 1 2nd gear as it has a different ratio. I have this stuff in stock as well.

It's an EVO 2 input shaft, due to it having 20 teeth on it for 2nd gear.

Tim I sent you a few pics the other day to your [email protected] email. I talked to Jon who said it was a EVO 2.
