Guy wins bid for GT-R on ebay and dealerships won't sell

Wow that sucks for the OP. Hopefully he does what's necessary to get the car he rightfully won

MAN.. ill go down there and tell them they stupid hahah my old roomate lives and San Marcos!

Thats just plan retarded and i hope the dude gets his GT-R for what he won it for on ebay!

The only thing that is fishy is the dealership refusing dude his car.

They won't sell him the car unless he pays them 59k..Really what a bunch of dicks..

But seriously, they actually have to sell him the car for 51k don't they..Otherwise he can sue them for false advertising?

The dealership needs to be responsible, 2 days and look how quickly this has spread sometimes its better to be the bigger man and own up to your mistake they are only hurting themselves and the business by not acknowledging his win! :nono:

That's insane! I'm never buying a Honda again. It doesn't suprize me though; for some reason all dealerships are employing strictly retards these days.

I run my own repair shop, and I hear about, or experience first hand the ineptness of dealerships at least once a week.

Reminds me of the guy who saved up enough pepsi points for the Harrier jet and didn't get it. I hope this guy gets the GT-R and alot more out of that dealership.

This is always happening with eBay... They used to be a fair trade company.. With all the scams and crap going on.. I lost my paypal account and funds in it due to a scammer..

His best bet is through court, eBay is a joke and will not force anybody to sell an item in which the poster decided to have sellers remorse over.

Just got done reading this. In the case about the GT-R, I think the dealership is wrong (and quite idiotic) and should just give the guy his car, I mean c'mon it's less than $4K!

...but as far as the Pepsi Jet case goes, I'm against the guy who actually bought/collected the Pepsi points, what a retard

The pepsi points thing was different (if I remember correctly). That guy only had a dozen or so REAL points, then wrote a $700,000 check to make up the difference (something about the points have a 10 cent value, so the $700,000 made up his other 699,9xx points he needed). In other words, that guy didn't really win anything being offered.

This eBay case was an auction that someone won. I think he should get what he bid on and fairly won.

I swear last time I read the rules on ebay, a bid is a binding contract between seller and buyer, if there is no reserve set while making the add then it must be sold for whatever price it got to.

I'd sue without a doubt.

I dont know why the pepsi thing popped into my mind after all these years. It's similar in the fact that something is advertised as one price and then when you go to collect they deny you or want more. Anyways I did a google search on the GT-R thing and this guy has been going to town posting his story. It's on dozens of forums and a few news sites. I wonder how big this will get.

True! I say sue ebay for not enforcing it and the dealership for not stay true to the auction. The word CONTRACT is very strong!

25 pages in like a few days, wow! Anyone bother to read the whole thing. What happen!

EDIT:
Should of READ THE FEEDBACK of the stealership.

I have a buddy that won a 2011 BMW about 6 months ago on Ebay for much cheeper then what it should have sold for. Bottom line, the dealer screwed up & listed a bunch of cars without reserves (they had sold a bunch of cars on Ebay before without issue). He called them up to say where do I send the payment for the car I bought, they basically said no were not selling the car for that price. After some arguing, some research & some effort on his part, they did follow through & sell him the car. He ended up paying a few $K more then what he won the car for but they included alot of extras which basically would have cost him the additional he had to pay.

He was lucky & was able to get in contact with one of the head guys (the company that owned this dealer owned something like 150 dealerships around the world). & seems like he basically told the dealer, they screwed up & deal with it. A bunch of the other guys that won the other cars that were listed without reserves at the same time, looks like didn't end up with the cars (ie gave up when they were told they couldn't buy the cars for that).

Edit: haven't read the whole thread, but for $4K their putting up this much stink & not just admitting they screwed up? For that amount it shouldn't be worth the bad publicity, I know if it happened to me, I would either be getting the car or I would make sure the dealership would lose more in sales then the $4K was ever worth.

In my buddies case, it was much more then $4K vs their asking price on the lot, that he won it for.

i agree with an earlier statement i believe the bid would be binding. i looked at the auciton and it apears that it was a no reserve auction so whatever it sold for it sold for. Think randy, the internet sales guy messed up when he originated the auction, ###### was supposed to be in ebay classifies or have a reserve. I think ebay needs to step in and do their job and moderate the situation as well, im sure their gonna want their commission from the sale. as far as i know when the auction is over its over no second thoughts. i dont think ebay should be letting them list any other cars if thats the ways they are gonna practice business. i think hell get his car but i also think it is pretty dumb for either side to be whinning about $3900 on a $60k car.

Oh wow. After reading all those pages, I seriously hope that guy gets this GT-R. That's some crazy stuff, and very unprofessional from the dealers stand-point.

As said, this is going to cost them big time.

I checked the hangout after seeing this on a local forum, just to see if it made it here. This story is spreading pretty damn fast. I honestly cannot believe how stupid the dealership is being. They seriously won't honor his bid of less than $4k under their asking price? As others said, they're only costing themselves more the longer they let this go.
