GT35R Vs.Evo 16G turbo

Okay I own a 98 GSX 100,000 miles. DNP headers, Injenintake, Greddy type RS bov, redone head by slowboys racing, full Magna flow exhaust, DNP manifold. I run 93 Octane at all time on my car. I was looking at DSM graveyard for a turbocharger. I drive my car about three to four times a week and dont really go to the tracks. In april im going to buy injectors, pump, and turbo charger. I dont want some laggy turbo with massive PSI. I want a good reliable turbo thats quick and has good top speed, but yet something I can drive a lot with. Is the Evo 16G or the GT35R the king of the streets haha? Or any other suggestions for a turbo under about 700$?

That's not a 35R, it's a knockoff by CX Racing. Real Garrett 35Rs are $1600, not $600.

My first suggestion would be to shop for your turbos elsewhere.

At this point, with the amount of knowledge you have I'd tell you to stick with the stock turbo t'ill you understand why everyone told you that comparing a MHI 16G to a Garrett GT35r makes no sense, but now I would almost suggest that you sell your dsm and start riding a bicycle to work.

Never trust pricing to be an accurate guide of a turbo's size or potential the same as you'd never trust a vendor who sells the same Chinese products you can find on eBay for less money.

That turbo is as journal-bearing as it gets- it has no balls whatsoever. I owned one until it failed after 400 miles.

Anywhere from 550cc to 1600cc.

I just put a 16g on my car and it pulls way harder then a T25. I'm personally very very happy with it. I just ordered DSMLink today and will be getting it tuned here in the next few days

hahahahahaha that was great. I totally agree. They are two opposite turbos here. - king of the "street" go with the 16G, that was my favorite street turbo hands down. Great spool, nice power and performed in all rpm ranges.

It should be noted that this is for those running street fuel (93 & 91 Octane). E85 will be quite different.

On a serious note...
TaylorGang... You need to do your research. I am sorry, but a GT35R vs. E316G? The only thing they have in common are they are both turbochargers. I can understand that you are eager to put down some solid numbers, but it takes more than just slapping on an intake, exhaust, and a turbo. The E316G is one of the best street turbos for those that want to have a balance between reliability and some more power. It doesn't have enough power to really start breaking things, but still has enough kick to be a lot of fun. There are threads upon threads on 16g builds. The E316G flows at around 550CFM or 42lbs/min. So 560's or 660's would be adaquit. If you plan on upgrading in the future you can always go bigger, but it's harder to tune larger injectors with something like SAFC.
