GST auto driveaxle to GST manual?

Hi,

I recently bought a driveaxle online to my car. Not until i had received it - I noticed that it was for GST Auto. My fault for choosing wrong. Now the axle is almost identical but when I researched it the overall width (compressed) is approx .5 inch shorter.

Anyone with experience - , does it fit? The ~0.5" doesn't seem to be so big a difference as the inner joint moves back and forth in the inner axle end.
