ok so i ready a couple posts about the swap and everyone just says its a pain and is a waste of time. I have a guy giving me a trashed GSX complete and a GS-T shell mint.....I wanna make a swap so I got the quality of AWD from the trashed GSX and drop its goodies into the GS-T shell. What Do I need from the GSX? and what do I need that outside of simple parts swapping if anything? btw they are both 98's

It is a ton of work from what I have read. Do a search and I am sure that there are multiple threads on the topic.

Heh I was just curious about the process....Im just going to go ahead and build the GS-T and part out the GSX

I don't think it would be a waste of time to have something unique, a good learning experience, a fun project, and bragging rights alone.

Not to mention you are gaining AWD that it seems you'd regret not having.

It is a bit of a job that's for sure but I think in the end it would be worth it especially if you have a super clean shell to put it in.

I think it would be worth all of the work and effort to do the swap. You already have every single part you need for the swap, so you wont have to go parts hunting. Its just a matter of commiting and doing the work. There is one member documenting his gsx swap right now and he is doing it in his driveway. Think about the end result, your going to be much happier having the awd.

Do some research and decide if its worth the work. I did my AWD swap in 2 weeks which also included a A/T to M/T swap as well, to top it off it was in a garage and I had no idea what I was doing. Here's the AWD swap write-up I used. ---> 2g AWD Conversion
