does any 1 know the site that has the pics of the home made ground kit
i seen it before i just cant seem to find it any more

I think he is talking about those hyper ground kits. Just make your own from 4 gauge wire. Get with Dieselboy, he did his own.

I have them installed in my car, I didn't notice any power gain, however the car starts a little smoother, and the lights are also brighter.

I'm not sure if this should be posted here but anyway. I was wondering if installing a ground wire kit (or a DIY kit like the one shown in the install articles) affects performance and why. Should I see any performance gains by installing such kit????

Your car will start up easier and run better. Not a bad investment. Besides, it'll make your engine compartment look cool with the extra wires.:thumb:

The Thicker the better... but get what you can. 4ga wire can cost up to $4 a foot. I bought a spool and did 3 cars worth, so it was cheap. You could always do the ebay special.. but those use cheapo 10 gauge wire, and at best 8 ga wire. They do have nifty connectors though...

Your call. My car did not show any difference that was noticeable.. my friends say their car "idles better' but who knows if it's all myth. In theory it would help out, and if it doesn't hurt, why not? Dyno charts on all magazines give 1 hp maybe. :)

Yes, yes. Cluttering up our engine bays is ALWAYS fun. :p

It's 50/50. Some people report gains, some don't.

I got the wiring off ebay about 20ft of 4g black wire for about $15 shipped, then found some nice copper battery terminal ends (about 25) for about $15 for a total of about $30, its not a bad investment, look for deals, thats what Ebay is about

make your own ground wire kit. use 4 gauge wire and connectors and solder and waaalaaa you saved yourself a ton of money. if you want to get even more crazy you can run 2 wires side by side to get half the resistance of a 4-awg wire or run 3 side by side and get 1/3 the resistance of a 4-gauge the possibilities are endless muaaaaahhhhhh.

since eletricity is my thing and you engineers know that grounding is every thing it is a good idea to do.

horse power claims will differ from case to case becuase every car is unique and lives in different enviroments for corrosion.
some cars may have grounding issues from the factory and people just don't know it.
basically running a ground wire to your head has a similiar affect of running lower resistance plug wires. if i could draw a schematic you would see why. lowering any resistance in a series circuit in this case whether it be before the spark plugs or after will increase the spark. most people buy the plug wires. because they guarantee a resistance drop of XXX ohms where as the ground wires will help especially on older cars and maybe not so well on newer cars or cars. plus they can't really gurantee you particalur car will have such and such a drop in grounding resistance. they say up to 10 times i believe.

also sand paper the metal, or nuts the connectors touch and give them a shot of spray paint to prevent corroision.

common wire kits i have seen run a wire from the throttle boddy, the head, the fire wall.
