grinding when let off gas

Hello,

I have a 95 Esi talon non-turbo. recently I have gained a new noise when i let off the gas, moving at any speed faster than 25mph. so at speed when i let off the gas , in the front driverside someware i hear a wonderfull grinding-klinking noise? all the way untill im going slower than about 25. the shifting in my trans is also delayed slightly, slow, and harsh. i have 135K Mi on the car. when i Did a Trans Pan drop i found some prety big pices of aluminum, and a full Magnet. Is My Trans Dieing??? Please Help !!

Well I would think that if you have metal in your transmission pan then its probably a sign that something isnt right and probably failing in the transmission.

Does it still make the grinding noise even after you removed the metal from your trans?

sounds like bad news any tiny flakes like shaveings or just chunks?

the magnet in the pan was full of shavings and there were small chunks of aluminum in the bottom of the pan, about a half a spoon full. I replaced the fluid, it still makes the noise. i also replaced the magnet.

Your best bet is to find a used transmission and just swap it out unless your going for racecar status .
