Check out the pictures below and let me know what you think has gone on here. I can't see any damage to the LSD.

There are particles here on a paper towel, some look like teeth shavings, there is a small spring, a small ball bearing, and what appear to be many broken small pins. There is also no evidence of how the thumb sized hole got in the trans either.

Is there any way to bench test the LSD? Should the internals spin or anything? I'd like to make sure before I reinstall it in the next transmission.

OMG i just noticed we have a pull-a-part Close to me! Im calling to see if one of the cars they have has a 4G63 in it !

they're all cheap NT's. I got lucky couple weeks ago and found a 1g head just laying in some NT eclipse. I guess the owner didnt want it. first time seeing anything like that in a couple years

I noticed they have 4 1G cars and 2 2G cars! hopfuly one is bound to have a full engine?

I'm installing the diff in another transmission tomorrow. Should be back on the road again in just a day or two.

BTW: you guys are lucky, NO ONE up here sells a trans for this car for any kind of deal. $400 and up. I buy whole cars for that sometimes LOL.

I would check craigslist. A few months back I saw a 420a and tranny for $150. I finally needed it a month ago, so I found the ad and called him up. just my luck, he sold it the day before. :banghead:

LSD still has warranty coverage, but found the chewed up gear inside the transmission so I'm not going to mess with the Quaife, just pop it in the next trans.

And about buying on craigslist, it depends on where you are. A person selling a trans for $70 from California doesn't do me much good if shipping is $200 plus, see my point?
