Ive just replaced my type s with a new type rs bov and i cant get this thing to work right. When I first installed this thing, I reved the motor jus to make sure that it was hooked up correctly and the valve would squeak when it closed. I knew that meant that it was set to soft so I tighted the screw and it stopped. But for some reason when I drive it, it takes alot of boost to make it blow off and its not even that loud. I hear a slight woosh and a little whistle right after it. I checked for boost leaks but i got a perfect .60 kpa vacuum reading. If tried both soft and hard settings and still sounds like crap. Is it possible that this bov is trashed? thanx

ya i had a RS and it really sucked.. would never blow off. i finally sold it

If you take apart the bov youll see two springs. Take out the smaller spring and put back the bigger spring. This only takes 10 minutes and it might fix your problem

i just got the new RS to replace my S with a leaking diaphragm. I don't have problems blowing off but i will admit that the RS is on the soft side when i adjust it. I had about 11-12 threads showing while my S only had 6-7 threads showing. I guess the extra 3mm valve makes a huge difference. Anyway i don't have any problems with my RS blowing off so I'm happy :dsm:
