Before I ask my question, I just wanted to verify that I did search (forums and gallery). Anyways, I know the greddy fmic is one of the only front mounts that keep the fog lights. I have confirmed this through my searching but leaves me still without an answer to my question. Will I get to keep my foglights on my 2gb talon?:p Once again I know they stay on the 2gb Eclipses but still no confirms it for talons.

I would think so since the foglight brackets are in the same spot.

But don't worry about this kind of stuff, I had some custom brackets fabbed up so I could still use m foglights. I have the slowboy fmic, and still rock some nice fogs ;)

See thats what I thought. I wasnt sure if they shared the same location. Its just that they are different fogs. Thats what was confussing me.

Yes the fog lights are important to me. Why? Well besides the thermal canon sticking out the back of my car, its completely stock appearing. Anything the keep the stock appearence would be great. I dont want a larger SMIC either. So if you have any suggestions please feel free.

if you find that the fog lights are an issue with this particular FMIC, i would also suggest custom brackets made at your local trusted shop. furthermore, if you are willing to do so, you may also consider finding a different placement for one or both of the endtanks (which would also entail some newly fabricated IC pipes). if the fog lights are that big of an issue, and the piping virtually does not allow one or both fog lights to be in place, then a relocation of the endtank(s) may be necessary.

Honestly I would just scrap the fogs to get a good fmic kit, probably won't even be noticeable to most people if your trying to keep it stock looking (BTW adding a fmic is defently not keeping it stock looking :D ). Seems like some have got the fogs to work with their Kinetic/SBR kit. I would recommend the Victory Performance kit 100% but for the Eclipse there is no way your keeping the fogs so I would imagine the Talon would be the same.

Well the sleeper thing is only to be a sleeper from the man and not the local ricers. I could care less about racing but I was thinking that having the foglights there and the fmic right behind it would give off the image of just being a radiator to the untrained eye. LOL WTF?

I found this pic and if you look at it, you can see there might be enough room to fit them.

No you can't keep them.

About the only FMIC's that let you keep the 97-98 Talon fogs are the Top to bottom cores that are around 18-24ish inches wide.

Here's one on Kilurv8's old car.

Good to see you jumped in there. I was reading and getting worried.

As for the original poster... seriously... no one will realize you lost the fogs, esp on a talon. The Greddy kit is seriously not worth it. It's not that big, long route, and costs as much as a large turbo.

I had the greddy intercooler on my 2gb gsx and the foglights had to go, the light brackets got in the way of the end tanks. Did you already buy the intercooler, if not i wouldnt suggest it with the long route piping and the cost, you could pick up a Dejon full race kit with short route piping and a slim fan for about $960, thats what i sold my greddy to get

No, I havent bought it yet. I do want to keep my fog lights though. That is set and will not change. I really like the way Kilurv8's car looks. Top to bottom core? I know I should know this but who makes that style of core?

Hey, Im just looking at my options. Its hard finding what I am looking for with the criteria I have. (Keep stock foglights, planned t28)

RRE's website will let you put together a small FMIC kit. They have those (weak :notgood: ) top to bottom intercoolers.

Fog lights pfft, who need um? If i was you i would just ditch the fogs and get a nice intercooler, just my opinion.

I would really like to keep the fogs though. This was my thinking. Please tell me if it sounds retarded or not. I was going to get the large greddy fmic because Ive seen that it keeps the fogs (eclipse, not talons i guess) I already have the greddy LICP. Im not looking to take the car to the track and get the best times. I was simply looking that it serves its purpose and keeps the t28 I plan to get spooling.

I had the greddy kit on my eclipse and the foglights had to go, greddy IC's are tube/fin and are not as efficient as most other intercoolers that are bar/plate designs, when i had the greddy on my car the fins bent really easily i would not recommend this intecooler.

Alright, well I guess I am back to the drawing board. Damn! I do appreciate all imput though!

Check it out man. Slowboy 2g kit, probably the most intrusive kit out there.

cost me 20 bucks to get the brackets welded, fogs cost me 30 bucks at parts store. Any fogs could work.

So I have come to the conclusion that if I want to keep the fogs (yes i still want them) I need to do one of the following 3 options.

1. Larger side mount

2. Nicer fmic setup (SBR fmic)

3. Custom setup from RRE and custom piping

The only issue I have with the SBR setup would be the fact that it is not made to fit a t28. Also, what do you guys think of the dejon tool street fmic setup.(See pic below) It looks like it would suit my needs because it routes the pipes to the same side mount location.
