Okay, my friend has a 2000 civic si and said he would give me his GReddy 18g from his bolt on kit because he just got $13,000 from a settlement with a insurance company and is buying a GT28. My question is, I know they make the same kit for our cars also...will the 02 housing bolt up and manifold bolt up be the same?
 
The Honda kit uses a T2 Garrett style flange (think T3 but smaller). You could swap a DSM style turbine housing on it, I "think" they use a TD05H turbine wheel, but don't quote me. Tell your friend to save his money, even the largest of the GT28 family won't outflow his 18g.
 
Looks to be the same beside a difference on the wastegate actuator clip. Would that matter? It may be the same as the chinabay turbos but would it really make that big of a difference? It is just the housing. Mitsu parts will be inside, not chinabay
 
Ya that part is fine... China bearing and oil seals suck
 
You see that flange right there on the left side.
That mates up to a very similar flange on the Center Housing Rotating Assembly, or CHRA for short.
There is a clamp that holds the two together.
Shouldn't be a problem, just make sure it looks like this.
The clamp is circled in red.

I have the same 18g right now and it bolts up to a mitsu turbine housing perfectly. I also ordered the ebay turbine housing you posted.
 
I will, fedex came today but I wasn't at my place to get it so I'll let you know tuesday when they come back. I was kinda worried the ebay turbine housing wouldn't fit because the actuator arm sticks out about an inch where as the OEM mitsu housing is flat. But I played with the actuator rod and it should fit just fine. I'll let you know as soon as i do.
 
I noticed you have an Injen intake which im pretty sure is set up for 14b/16g/t-25 size turbo inlet. The Greddy 18g has a 3'' inlet.
 
Damn really? that sucks. I just called my buddy, said it was 3" also. Im kinda mad now LOL. And ya, let me know how that swap goes, take a couple pics if ya can

Just got the turbine housing, and the wastegate actuator hole will need to be open a bit. But other than that it seems to bolt up just fine..
 
Ill probably open up the hole with a drill and drill bit.
 
Finally home from school, and decided to start on the car. Opening the wastegate actuator hole took five min, just get a drill bit and have at at. I also tested to make sure the actuator worked properly with an air compressor, and it worked great. Ill get pics of it when it's installed, hopefully this weekend
