What does the 18g turbo consist of? Is it made from mitsubishi parts or is made from after market parts? Is it possible to turn a 14b or 16g turbo into an 18g? If so, what parts would be used.

That conversion would spool slower than the stock 14b and an EVO III 16G... correct?

Is the 18G more of a Drag (tope end power) turbo? I am looking for the fastest spool up time as I plan on using my car for time trials and Autoxing.

What i do like about this is that I can keep my 14B housing hence making it stealth and not getting hit on penalties for swapping out my turbo (I know I know... its cheating!!!! :D )

I've been trying to get some answers about just that in another thread.

It would spool a little slower because you have a heavier wheel on the compressor side. But the problem I see with putting it onto a 14b housing is that you have the 060 exhaust housing, and it might not flow enough to prevent boost creep, even with an upgraded wastegate. Of course it might be fine, it all depends on what boost level you are running.

can the 14b compressor housing and the exhaust housing be used with the 18g center section?
