Got good fuel/spark/compression still no start

Engine cranks over but does not start. It only backfires a little every few turns. I have spark fuel and good compression, timing is dead on. What am I overlooking?

Plug wires hooked up correct? Being a 95 they're different than 97+.

It has many times in the past. If the sensor is dead or disconnected the ECU thinks it's really cold out and winds up flooding the engine.

yeah I have dsmlink but its not reading the coolant temp, never heard of a bad coolant sensor preventing the car from starting, makes sense though. Ill get that taken care first and let you know if thats the cause of the problem...thanks

That did the trick, the wire harness to the coolant temp sensor was disconnected. Never would of known that was the cause of the problem. You guys rock thanks

I've never heard of the coolant sensor stopping the engine from starting either. Thats kinda crazy but it does make sense.

There are two forms of timing, ignition and cam. The ignition timing on a 95 with an original engine is fixed. Cam timing requires you to rotate the engine to TDC and check all the timing marks at the crank, oil pump, and cam sprockets. If all the marks line up it's correct.

I agree with this, just want to make sure that the OP is sure of it. Normally when I see this problem the timing is one to two teeth off.
