This may not be the best place to post this, but I can't post in other forums.

I have a 98 eclipse with a 91 engine. 1000cc injectors, dsmlink. I just did an awd swap with a new gas tank and had some fuel issues - the regulator showed fuel pressure going from 42 at idle to 20 with throttle. There was some gunk in my return line, and now its fine. I put new plugs and wires in, the same kind as I have always used. But now the engline is knocking 5 degrees under boost and misfiring. All cylinders are firing in the correct order and I'm using the same tune. Cylinder 1 has oil on the piston and the spark plug is fouled, but I have good compression in all cylinders. I put a new head on it last summer due to leaky valves. Does this sound like it could be the rings even with good compression and could they cause the engine to knock?
Thanks!

Sounds not good , I would do a "Leak Down" I think maybe you have cracked a ring land , could still show decent compression Leak down will tell the tale . Good LUCK

I've been trying to get ahold of a leak down tester for awhile. do you know if autozone lends them out? also, what should I be looking for in a leak down specifically? I've never done one.

just do the compression test and see if it still hold pressure for a couple of minutes, let each cylinder sit for a little bit. if there is a drop in pressure then you have a leaky cylinder could be due to knock, over heating, or scared rings.

the knocking could be due to that spark plug fowling out.
