Well, I go beat to hell with hail here a few weeks ago and when i get the check from state farm i'm going to buy some 24.5x8.5x15'' slicks (M&H of course D compound)
then i want an HX35 to replace my beat 57 trim

then finally i want injectors big enough to max out the hx-35 on ethanol..

what would you guys suggest? I'd like the smallest that will do the job just for DD work. I'm thinking 1450's to 1600's

since my car wont be legal anywhere i move with a stand alone and all i'm just going to for-go the body work for now and make it as fast as i can so i can tow it to the track an dplay when i get moved

Just wondering, since im in the market as well...what made you choose an hx35 as opposed to the hx40?

Well, really i dont know enough about them to tell ya other than the 35 makes the power range i wanna be in, I would assume it spools a tad faster than a 40, adn i'm not sure if there's any difference in external size... but really i am only aiming for 500 hp on the turbo then use the nitrouse if i need more... the 35 spools faster than my 57 so it sounded good and i like the BEP housings to make it fit my t3 manifold

Hell, there's some small tubros that are (i forget what series) but they are super small and move ton of air, i'd run oneof those if they were outrageouse in price.. the holset fits for price, power and spool so that's what i chose.

the car will most likely get gutted (maybe stay plated in nebraska) and mainly be a weekend warrior or trackonly car once i move... talking lexan windows, cutting out all the interior sheet metal and using a roll cage to re-enforce the chassis, and depending on how bold i get i might tube the front end and try and find a one piece fiberglass front end so i can run some really large slicksif the 24.5's won't get the 60' times i want

EDIT: Iwill be buying used..holset from jusmx141, BEP housinfg from ????, slicks gotta be new, and injectors i'd prefer new but depnds on price

I've been keeping up with the holset threads and it seems like they are the best option for me. Cheap, Durable, and are good for low 10's. I was thinking the hx40 for me since I will have a bit more room to grow and spool speed isnt as much of an issue for me. Jusmx has hx's for sale?

Glenn look into a set of FIC1450s. I tuned a friends car on dsmlink..in the the dyno section of this forum.. he put down 501awhp/404awtq on E85 and a single fuel pump, IDC's were maxed but it will support your goal. (I actually made 649whp with them as well on E85.) Hes since added another fuel pump, and now running the same 1450s at approx. 550awhp. The 1450s work great, no stumble hiccups or bogging at all even without the FIC easytune box.

Thanks for the replies everyone...

Firebird...what was the IDC after the 2nd pump on your friends car? I don't mind 100% IDC but would prefer to stay under 95% while making 500 - 525HP...

Lathin, i looked at those, but honestly i don't want to go over 1600 for the simple fact that no matter what EMS you have an injector doesn't like to be open for times under 1.2ms (and that's the lowest they are half as reliable at) and i like my tune to drive like OEM and idle perfectly (which it does and i'm on 1k's now with about 1.20ms - 1.34ms at idle depending on the RPM and load o f AC compressor, and i dont' want to take it under 1ms period unless it becomesds a race only car )which it may depending where i move to)

I have a friend with 1600's and a Link standalone EMS (not the link everyone knows about for piggyback and such) and i've got his id'e pretty damn good on big cams at about 1100 RPM with pulse widths right at 1.0ms, but even then it will be inconsistant to the point it would bug me, but his car is all race so he don't care

but still I'd rather do some 550 primaries and 1600 secondaries on a DD car before going above 1600's, but like i said it's only for idle quality because i'm super picky about my tunes and not stalling when i stop with the AC on..when the injectors are open lesss than 1ms they become very inconsistant in how much fuel actually comes out and idle will vary and suffer from it and instead of running 720 primaries and 1000 secondaries which i have everything to do, i want to keep m,y sequnetial injection as i'm playing with and learning a good bit about injector phase angle and how it effects the engine's performance on cruising style drriving and idle

Do some research on the 2150. Everyone I have talked too and the posts I have read say they idle better then 1600. They say it is becouse they are a highZ injector and that makes them idle better when using a standalone ECU. When using dsmlink or afc and such you need there easytune box.

The FIC 2150s are a high impedence injector, your going to spend a good amount of money on a set, almost double for what ud spend on a FIC1450 that would suit your needs perfectly. His IDC now with two pumps at 43psi base fuel pressure is around 87-89% max. They work fantastic, I think you will be happy with there performance and idle/driveability characteristics.
