edmonton,
so im going to rebuild my engine and am wondering when rebuilding and boring the pistons to .20 over, removing balanceshaft and removing the a/c. how much of an increase in hp would I see vs. a stock engine w/ac,bs and no boring

i know its kinda a stupid question but im curious.

you wont see anything from boring over, boring over is to get rid of scratches and marks in the cylinder walls.... Removing a/c youll gain crap. Most your gonna see from doing that is weight reduction from removing a/c.

removing the bs belt has to be good for around 10 hp, and quicker reving without the ac

hey who knows, maybe 30hp. Ive heard removing a/c and bshaft belt has yielded 65whp gains. I think thats what you wanted to hear? No point in sitting around guessing how much hp youll gain from something like that, itll probly be a single digit number, it wont even register on the butt dyno.

boring .20 over will give you a slight increase in displacement... but you won't have room for a rebuild later..

BSE - won't give you any more hp, but you will rev a bit quicker due to rotational mass loss, and it's a whole lot safer.

AC removal - little bit of a weight loss...

overall - not noticeable hp difference.

if u bore .20 over it increases your displacement to 2022cc i beleive. anyway ya mabey a 10 hp gain. but by removeing the bs belts ect.. you will gain a little quicker revs.. i went with eagle/ross combo and i accually notices some quicker revs over a stock gst.

the biggest gain you well is going with 8.5:1 or 9.0:1 comp pistions.. that will decrease spool up and give yourself a lil low end. i notced with my higher comp pistions i really dont need the turbo driving around town.

just a lil info. from my pov

he never mentioned using a diff compression piston, or even aftermarket.

And boring .020 leaves room for a later rebuild if neccessary, you can bore well over .020 on the 4g63.

Basically you really arent going to gain anything from a bore over, bshaft eliminator and a/c removal. Nothing noticeable or really worth doing these processes for the soul purpose of gaining power. Doing them because you can and or necessary fine.

Bshaft eliminator is mostly dont for reliability, you can ditch the bshaft belt and not have to worry about it taking out the timing belt.

Just have your stuff done, and dont worry about something so small, no ones gonna be able to pull numbers out of the air for these things.
