im going to AMS prolly this week, if not next week. im going up there w/ $3000. im having them inspect my car for any problems and to change awheel bearing and then im going to get some mods and have them to tune my car.


im going to get a evo3 turbo ported and a 34mm flapper, evo 3 ported o2 housing, moter mounts, thermal catback w/ a test pipe, install my supra fuel pump, they are going to install my evo 8 fmic w/ custom piping and then tune the beast.

my mods are...625cc injectors, SAFC 2, AMS boost controller, balance shafts removed, arp head studs, mitsu mutli layer head gasket, k&n filter, dejon tool intake, 3'' hks downpipe, hacked mass air, crushed 1g bov, cyclone intake manifold, ported 2g exhaust manifold, boost and a/f gauge, i think thats all of them.



i know this is going to get bashed prolly for asking this question, but what hp and 1/4 time should i expect when im all done?


im aiming for at somewhere in the 12's.( hopefully im not being to greedy for the 1/4)

any ideas?

Agreed. The numbers on that IC wont be efficient enough to get what you want out of that turbo. But as for the rest you should make high 12s if it's tuned REALLY well. Good luck!

My friend Victor with a red 1g bought his DSM from them. Im not sure if anybody knows him.

I havent been to AMS. I've been hearing lots of good things about it, and how they specialize in DSMs.

I plan to head out there sometime and get it tuned before i hit the tracks. Any suggestions on how to prep my car?? So far I have a ported 14b in my 2g.

Yea but you also have a better intercooler and a clutch that won't slip after 2 passes.
 
AMS is a very reputable shop so you are in good hands.

I would ditch that FMIC idea and get alky instead, it will be a better bang for the buck.

Whats the price on the EVO 3 turbo? I would consider a 50 trim if the prices are close.

You are asking a bench racing question, which you knew was wrong and did anyway…

As a side note, with a cat back and a fuel pump, you already have the mods get run 12’s…

Would you care to share with me where you got this information? And I mean numbers and not just some similar statements from other people...
 
You should for sure look at a diffrent fmic.

even your turbo choice, these days with all these new crazy turbos out you could go with a bolt on gt30r, 50 trim or 60 trim let alone a dozen other bolt on turbos that will work alot better then the evo 3 and cost about the same as a evo 16g, install kit,ect. talk to eric at ams about these turbos im sure he could guide you into the right direction. If your asking me about where i heard this from or what not, ive tried it. im not like every other dsmer on here who post stuff about shit they never even tried. i base my statements off things ive tried and moved on. jim
 
What turbo were you running at the time? Were you really getting that much knock?

ive used the evo 16g, 50 trim, 60 trim, and the new gt255 aka gt 50 trim.


all of my cars usally where tuned right with no knock. with dsmlink it allowed me to adjust my timing for a safer tune. usally on 93 octane i would run 18-20 psi, on 100 i ran 24 and on 110 i ran 27 psi. i tired keeping it safe, at the time i needed my car everyday. Jim

ok for real dude what point are you trying to make, anyone looking to go fast wouldnt even think about that fmic. fmic ive tried are small greddy, big greddy, agp, ams, dvdtfab.

as for turbos i also tried a pte bolt on 57trim witch sucked. was standard bearing and spool was just nasty.
 
im just posting to help this guy do it right the first time and not look back in 3 months and wish he did something diffrent.
 
I asked you to cite your source, you said you've tried the FMIC. So I asked what turbo you were using... I'm not trying to make a point I'm trying to get info on using the FMIC, because I have been considering it as well.
I'm looking to go fast, actually I am already and I'm looking at one, what's YOUR point?
