Picked it up today and all i can say is wow i am addicted. i love it! its a beautiful car, it has 17's short shifter 1g blow off boost gauge 3 inch exhaust quick realese clutch k and n he had 2g's in recents for the engine rebuild. runs great and pulls hard threw 1st 2nd and 3rd. i am so happy with my choice. got it for 5100 bux

As the title says thursday i am goin to check out my first dsm. I am hoping to buy it from him. I was just wondering if its worth what he is asking.

Its a black 95 eclipse gsx.
It has:
rebuilt engine with 500 miles
exhuast
new boots
struts
clutch
shifter
aftermarket rims
new shifter linkage

wants 5500 is it worth it? i will, ofcourse, offer him less then that but just wondering what its worth.

also since its a 95 does it have eprom?

It has 125k on the body by the way.

KBB is 3700 with 125k on it....so any input on price is welcomed

thanks keegan :dsm:

ps i am going to look at it thursday, and dont ask me any other tech questions i only talked to him for like 5 min i posted what i know thanks.

Yeah i am goin to call him on wensday and talk for a liltle bit longer. Make sure he has paperwork for the rebuilb.

When I purchased my car, I talked the owner down some because of small things like the water temperature gauge didn't work and the idle was very poor. Turns out that when I got home all I had to do was plug in the coolant wire into the thermostat and for some reason he cut the idle switch wire:confused: Nonetheless, easy fixes to small problems. Try to talk him down for any small problems you can fix on your own time.

just got back from puttin 200 miles on it runs great no problems with smoke ir over heating. no odd sounds pulls very hard with no hesitaion. but.....it has idle surge and when its surging its very hard to get into first/rev. and reverse grinds really bad sometimes...also the clutch dosent fully disengage sometimes. i was in second at like 30mph and i revved up to get boost dropped the clutch and it went down to redline but the car dident go anywere but then the clutch came out and it went fine. but for shifting/grinding prob i am goin to put in new tranny fluids and hope that helps

i'm still learning how to drive a stick properly. Like I can do it, but i'm not good at when to shift when your trying to go as fast as you can and getting the proper amount of RPMs when i'm downshifting, and i'm getting used to downshifting coming into stoplights and stuff. :(

Many people have had sucess with GM Synchromesh as it doesn't destroy the bronze parts in our transmissions. I would search around though and figure out what would best suit your needs, there have been many threads on transmission fluids.

tip for reverse, put it into first before putting it into reverse.

Its a common problem to put these cars in first and reverse they seem to grind?

Also put it into second before putting it into first if you are having trouble with it.
