So does a $100 14b. So does a $200 used small 16g. Both of which typically lasts far longer. And, have proven to deliver far better results on multiple occasions vs the best results of an ebay turbo.



:toobad: Once you get your car running consistantly healthy, your turbo will finally see some normal use that most of us put a real 16g/20g through. Lets see if it can tolerate a normal 20psi tune with a stock long block over the course of a year. My 14b did that for YEARS after having over 150K on it before it finally let go. I don't know where you get the idea that getting a good deal on a turbo once instead of paying for a new turbo for a little more and replacing when it blows is what a "mama's boy" would do.

. . . On a positive note. I really like the china bay 16g 20g turbine housings. They have a better entry to the turbine blades with more of a radius. And it looks like a larger critical area than the typical 7cm^2 MHI housing. As well, the flapper arm sits out farther from the housing which allows for straight actuator arms like the ajustable garrett and holset actuators.

"Pee ess eye" means nothing. Hom many rpms is the turbo spinning? Or How much volume flow is it supporting? You can come back here with your "blah blah blah" after you accurately log the volume flow and perhaps net a time. In the meantime you could very well be seeing 20psi in brief moments and never actually tax the turbo enough to cause a stock 14b to break a sweat. Which you could have had for $100ish.

Way to get your post count up.

All your arguements are moot and unproductive. This discussion has been beaten to pieces before. IF you want to continue, you're helping no one. There is simply no point in the gamble. Used MHI quality can be had for the same price and has proven to be more consistant at lasting AND more consistant at performing at a higher level. Arguing is simply a podiatry experiment involving the mouth and typing.

No offense taken at all. However, what does my personal results that i've chosen to share publicly have to do with the simple fact that the ebay 16g or ebay 20g still has net no better than a stock 14b pushed to it's limit. I didn't post fabulous china 16g/20g results for the discussion. But countless times you see one begin to push such into the typical higher flow ranges of a 16g and mid ranges of a 20g, what will happen more often or not?

For all, again, I CAN tell you that an ebay 16g will do this pushing the airflow my setup demands at mearly 20psi:

Just messin with you chill, ive read that thread and watched that vid before. You have put up some good info. But with 7k posts you youve spent more time on the computer then with your car. The car needs some lovin too haha

What dyno are you going to? i may want to check out this super bad a$$ ebay turbo. Once you lay down 600whp you can race me with my 400 dollar turbo.. If you do not blow your car or turbo up before then that is.. Prove it to me because junk ebay turbos are just that (junk)!!!!! I am just a jump to orl so i would love to see this.:tease:

ok every one want a pice of me fine i have a h22 95accord t3t4 turbo done all out and i also 97 lude t3t4 turbo and i never never had any thing go bad and i also have a bike cbr 900rr that will take all of u down so quit with this oh i got 600hp crap when u get to 183 mph let me know...and quit takeing about ebay turbos ### the dsm allways blow up thats y i dont see the point of spending all this money on a car thats for sure going to blow up.. every one is worryed about blowing up blowing up . y dont u just get a honda and focus on upgrades. :tease: :notgood:

. . .The simply point being made here is that it's better to buy a turbo that has proven to last 100k in abuse than one that has proven to last on average 2-3k not being pushed. No one is talking manufacturing location alone. While garrett quality HAS diminished, they still engineer the parts with at least some care for QC. Chinabay turbo machinery quality control is clearly faulty. Why is this even a discussion???

The arguement that dsms "blow up" is, at best, pure ignorance of the platform.
