Godspeed turbos???

Decided to look into parts to see if it's going to be worth while getting my eclipse up and running... I've ran across a few Godspeed turbos and remember hearing the name but don't remember if they were worth buying...are they any good?

Hit and miss but would highly suggest no.

Only thing I reccomend from Godspeed is their radiators.

I made the mistake of buying a Godspeed turbo and it failed on first start up. Put your money into a real quality product. Luckily I got my money back for it.

Nope.

as stated, they are hit and miss. me and a friend both bought one on the same order. mine lasted 30k miles. his lasted 1 mile...

Don't do it man, just buy a decent used turbo if your trying to save the money.

If you want cheap reliability & performance, go with Holset. An added bonus is you have a very reputable re-builder right on this forum (JusMX141) so you can afford to take a chance on a used one.

or a true mhi unit...used 16gs are pretty cheap. and more than enough for most "casual street drivers"

Go with a 14B. They're about $100 - $150 and if you're replacing a 16G it should bolt right in.

I'd not chance it. There is enough else to go wrong on these vehicles, not due to design necessarily, but due to sheer complexity of the systems involved overall. Why complicate your life? As others have said, there are turbo rebuilders on this board. Some good ones and some bad ones. Just ask questions and make sure they have you feeling comfortable. You are their customer. I mean, I'd only chance an unproven turbo if my car was going to be trailered in to a drag strip and was not my DD.
