GM or Ford Alternator?

Has any one run a GM or Ford 140amp? My local yards are full of Ford 3g 140's. It appears Ford put them in alot of cars in the mid to late 90's.
 
Well the GM one everyone uses is from the Saturn 1.9l SC/SL. They come in all kinds of amperage's. They're about $120 or so at Advanced.
