I remember reading a while back about getting rid of fuel cut using only the maft. I know by using the maft, I would only be tricking the ecu into thinking I'm getting different amounts of air through the maf, but that should hopefully rid my car of fuel cut.

My mods are ported 14b @15 psi, stock fuel system, upgraded smic and 2.5 catback and ofcoarse the drawthrough version of the maft (ver. 1.3)...my question is to all the owners of the maft.

My question is, can I change the injector size setting on the maft to a lower injector size (lets say 425 instead of the stock 450) which would in turn tell the ecu that its getting less air?

This is just an idea I'm throwing out. I remember something that touched on it before, but couldn't find any real solid follow-up information.

Any information on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

If you set the MAFT to a smaller injector size, the ECU will see MORE airflow. If the injectors were smaller, you would need a longer pulsewidth to get the same amount of fuel.

You can do this by setting the MAFT to a larger injector size. However, you need to use the larger injectors that go with that size, or you will run lean.

I have no idea what the comment above this is supposed to mean. Making the car run richer is not going to make you have to rebuild engines any more?

last i checked setting the MAFT to turn off fuel cut or setting to higher injector size leans the car... which of course is not the proper way to get rid of fuel cut.. need to use larger injectors to do that

Sure. However, that's not what he said.

He clearly would be richening up the car, and not leaning it out. Of course, this will make fuel cut worse, which I mentioned in my first response.

You'll just push it out, not get rid of it. But I would recomend that 1000 times more than messing with that fuel cut switch on the MAFt. ;)

You can.

However, I can't guarantee that it will do anything. With a stock fuel pump, you may see fuel pressure dropoff before you flow much more fuel then you could with 450's.
