Well getting a GM MAFT allow me to get rid of fuel cut? Or does it not have that capibility? Will I need some sort of ECU upgrade (such as an EPROM and chip) or an SAFC or something?

I know why. That's not what I'm asking. No matter how much fuel I put into it, I'm still going to get fuel cut unless I have something to fool the ecu, like the chip from dsmchip.com does. I just want to know if the GM MAFT does this.

ok, i was just making sure. I didn't want to buy it and not have it help me.

It won't do it by itself, if your getting fuel cut because you have reached the limit of your injectors, you also need injectors. If your getting fuel cut because of boost leaks this wont prevent fuel cut.

The MAFT has a setting to turn fuel cut off, but it is a bad idea to use it because the way it works is it clamps the airflow at a level below fuel cut. This means you'll run lean and there's no way to add fuel beyond where you were hitting fuel cut.

I'm not worried about that. I'll have my boost leaks fixed and I'll have a bunch of supporting mods before I do anything with the MAFT.

This thread makes my head hurt.

Do you understand why you are getting fuel cut? It sounds like you do not, since you said "no matter how much fuel" you put into it, you kept getting fuel cut.

Fuel cut has nothing to do with how much fuel you are putting into the motor.

Fuel cut is initiated when the ECU sees too much total airflow coming in. That's it.

A MAFT works JUST LIKE A SAFC in that it allows you to reduce the airflow signal by using negative correction and larger than stock injectors. A MAFT, a SAFC, or any other piggyback will not allow you to get rid of fuel cut, you just delay the point at which it happens.

The only way to really remove fuel cut entirely is with a chip.

Exactly. I still have fuel cut from time to time (usually colder, drier days) with my GM MAFT blowthru setup (with the stock chip in). I have the TMO Stage III chip that eliminates fuel cut. However, sometimes just eliminating it isn't the best thing to do. You should really understand what's happening to make it have fuel cut in the first place.

I prefer to keep my fuel cut active.

It would be my luck to pop a boost controller line off and me blow the motor before I knew it b/c I didn't fuel cut.
