Galant VR-4 ECU in Galant GSX?

I can't seem to find any info on this, but I am trying to find out if a ECU from a Galant VR-4 will work in my 90 Galant GSX n/a. My ECU fried and I can get a VR-4 ECU for the same price as a stock ECU but I'm unsure if it will work or not.

Any info on this would be great. thank you.

I'm sure there are alot of differences between the two, but your biggest problem will be the injector sizes. The vr4 has larger injectors due to it being turbo.

Look at your ECU and see the "MD" number - you need to find the same ECU to match your system. Can't use a turbo ECU in a N/T setup - wrong harness.

You can also use n/t dsm ecu. Just make sure its a 2.0 dohc not the 1.8.

No, you can't use the Turbo ECU.

I'm sure the car would run, but it will likely have a CEL and run lean since you have smaller than 450cc injectors.

The Galant GSX has the 2.0L 4G63 NT motor with AWD. Just go to the junkyard and grab a 2.0L NT ECU out of a '90 DSM and use that.
