Ga vs Gb

You mean 1ga vs 1gb..1ga is for 89-91 model dsm's..1gb is for 92-94 model dsm's..

Its the same for 2g's..2ga means 95-96, and 2gb means 97-99..And in 2g talons, a 2bg means 97-98, because the last year of the Talon was 98..

It's just referring to two versions of a particular generation. For example, the 1ga's had flip up headlights while the 1gb's did not. They are both considered 1g's, but they are slightly different as far as the body styling goes.

For 2g's the 2ga will have the crescent opening on the front bumper cover, and the 2gb will have the rounded opening in the bumper cover. I'm pretty sure the skirts + rear bumper cover are different as well, but i dont know those differences.

The 2ga rear bumper has the half-moon reverse lights surrounding the license plate area, while 2gb has the small circle reverse lights spread apart and centered on the bumper.

Do the letters Ga and Gb actually have a meaning? Like generation after (Ga) or generation before (Gb). Cause that's what I thought?
You're making this much more difficult than it actually is. :p
