I have a 95 tsi fwd automatic, trans is going bye bye. Cars been sitting for quite a while after a magnificent crap job a local shop did on the trans.
It goes into gear, but you need to give it gas from 2500-3000rpm for it to even move a bit. The trans fluid is fine and isn't burning up.
So from reading on the auto trans forums on here it seems to most likely be the torque converter, end clutch, or fluid pump?
I've seen some link on how to replaces some of these items, but my question is; is there any test, check you can do to see if these parts are bad? Or is it just bolt them off and check them that way? And if you do bolt them off will it be obvious that they are bad? I know the end clutch probably would mostly likely be obvious because it would probably be warped if I'm not mistaken.
Any help/suggestions/links would be greatly appreciated!
