FWD trans whine

Right off the bat im sorry i have 3G eclipse and im seeing now thats not considered dsm but i figure you guys would be the best to ask. ive read through related threads to my question but cant find anything for a FWD manual trans. basically i have a whine on decel in any gear and very faint in neutral. whine is balanced with road speed not rpm so im leaning towards the diff. i was told the clutch was replaced recently and it does feel so but i highly doubt it was with anything above stock quality, ruling out normal clutch spring vibration? so would i be correct to condemn the back end of the trans, and how serious is this issue? should i baby it every shift or can i open it up once in a while? any and all info would be great. even places and prices i can check on for parts in the great lakes region.

Checked the fluid level in the trans?

Also on a side note, i am a huge cheesehead. Saw you are from the motherland haha. I envy you, jk. I'd love to go see lambeau field once in my lifetime.

i topped the fluid off when i changed the cv axle. and it came pouring out when i pulled the axle so i doubt it was low to begin with.


ive only lived in GB for about 3 yrs. but WI about 7. i like it a lot better then IL where i grew up but let me tell you the traffic around lambeau is insane when there are games. and theyre only gonna get worse since they added like 7000 more seats
