I wanted to know if there was any way to make this hood functional? I know "ram air" doesn't apply to turbo cars, and the gains would be minimal, but I would like to have this hood be functional if at all possible. I was thinking it'd just take a good pipe to do it, but I'm not a DIY'er.

don’t think there is enough room in-between the intake manifold and hood to really make t work. seems like it would be to mush work for too little a gain. would probably be better served like the scoop on the 2001+ Celica's. basically uses the scoop to force air down the firewall to help keep the cab cooler.

Not much room for a TMIC, and I don't see a way to keep it as efficient at a FMIC or SMIC.

I agree with you on that, but he was asking for ideas, and I tossed that one out. Guess i shouldve thrown a smiley or an "LOL" to show some sort of sarcasm haha.

Dsm motors run nice and hot it seems, and a TMIC wouldnt be very efficient, unless you find some way to keep the air moving out of the car, to keep heat soak down.

thanks everyone for your replies and ideas. I didn't think there'd be enough room either, but thought I'd try to get some brainstorming going. I hadn't thought of an tpic, good idea but alas not enough room and I'm going with a fmic from cxracing anyways. at least it will be creating some airflow, and that should help a little, if not just as a release for the heat to rise out of the engine while cooling down :p

habit -- yes, this is my DD and I'm getting the hood like that because that's how I wanted it to look, so cutting a hole would kind of defeat the purpose. thanks for the input though, was a good idea for a track car.

nemizis - yeah ive seen that hood as well and have considered it, but it's 200 dollars more for something that would have very little effect on my car, and i just like the ss hood better, i think it's just more refined. thanks for the suggestion though.
