Speechless...... wow! ## brother is the SHIT dude. That's easily an 8000 dollar job he did. What a nice guy. Beautiful car. Unreal paint job

Love the metallic highlights on the front bumper in this picture! Was the metallic in the paint or was this a tri-coat paintjob?

Its all in the base. The clear was only mixed with hardener.

Wait till we are done with our Fathers 62 SS Impala

I have to say that pictures do not do justice for how nice the paint looks in person in the sun. It's so perfect that I'm scared to even get near your car, or even touch it. It came a long way from the matte green color, but it's definitely change for the good. I'm still not use to seeing you walk around with a micro fiber towel wiping the car down. ROFL

Where did you get the paint? Not looking for the color specifically, but not sure where that brand is from.

Lot a work, lot a bad memories...pays off though.

Car looks great!

After all the time and effort put into the paint job, its nerve wrecking being around it. Being Non-Op'd only has one positive aspect to this car. That is not being able to legally have it on the road, especially with so many high risk drivers in my area. Thanks to Eben though for getting me a Costco pack of micro fibers. I will be set for a couple more events :)

Terrific work brah.....mad props!

The paint was purchased through a friend that was selling off the rest of their Urethane base paints. Pro Spray is either a Valspar or House of Kolor descendant.

Man this color is growing on me LOL
My brother hated it at first and I quote, "Stupid color". But in the end, he likes it a lot more now.

Thanks! Sounds like you used to do some body work?

That front bumper is ugly.......

Luckily I know a guy who helped a brotha out and donated a pretty clean, stock bumper.

It might be ugly, but it gets the job done. :sneaky:

Well it ain't doing you any good sitting in the back of your truck.

ROFL I knew you were gonna say that! It was dropped off the week after that last event, when it was still in the back of my truck.

Now if I could only splurge a little bit on the clear coat I need. 180 bucks is hard to swallow since the car needs go fast parts.

Never been much for green, but your car definitely changed that thinking. Car is gorgeous, great job !

Un-be-lieveable! Very well executed and out of a garage to top it off. Just goes to show that all those painters out there who try and say you can't paint s#*t unless it's in a paint booth or else it'll look like crap. Props to your brother too, he does some amazing work. Laying the filler and getting it all sanded and transitioned properly takes A LOT of time and patience, not to mention experience. The first time I tried to lay some down I took my sweet a#@ time and it hardened up on me hahah. LOL Wicked job man and keep the posts coming.

Well, a paint booth would have helped out a TON as far as wetsanding and buffing goes. A garage does not have the ventilation a paint booth has. So before everyone goes out and attempts a project like this, my brothers years of experience shine (no pun intended) on this project.

He knows how to work well, with what he's got. The resources we pulled together to make this happen were very slim. It was just well thought out, his age and experience showed that patience makes everything worth it in the end.

What I am saying is, the odds of a beginner to pull off a paint job of this caliber out of their garages is in the 1% range.

Some of you with body work experience understand this. :thumb: I just don't want to motivate everyone to use extremely flammable paints in a garage without the proper common sense, preparation and planning.

AWESOME work I do paint and body work too but taking it to bare metal is insane very very nice job I know how hard it is to get a car looking like this one not easy at all the color almost looks like the new green that toyotas are coming out with, is nice dude congrats :hellyeah:

You guys should really paint my bike. LOL im tired of the standard blue, i want a flakey white. LOL im too scared to do it myself. good job on the car bro.

Its good to see someone on here doin an actual quality paint job instead of using rhino liner or plasti-dip. Looks killer man Great Job. I know exactly how much work goes into that for im a painter as well and im in the middle of painting my car and its taking a lil longer than i like but its totally worth it in the end. Again amazing job.

Color looks great. Glad to see another paint job done properly, jams and all.

You guys put a lot of work in it, and it surely paid off. Body work is very time consuming, I spent a year working on my cars body and finally painted it this summer. I did a pearl paint job, similar to yours. Mines black and red flake, and I painted the engine bay flat black pearl.

Check it out...

Look for a frost white as a base, then some House of Kolor Ice pearl in the clear. LOL If you were closer, my brother would do it.

Thanks man. I am not too sure how I feel about the Rhino Liner engine bays, but the plasti dip I do not like. Thanks though, I'm glad you auto body men appreciate the craftsmanship.

The Jams were something my brother said were a MUST. The only shortcut we took was not doing the engine bay at the same time. But I am still up in the air about what I want to do with the front end.

Your car is definitely unique. I like it.
