I usually don't post questions because typically a quick search answers my question. But I couldn't find anything on this. My car has been down for well over a year... don't remember how long anymore. In the mean time I've been having a 6 bolt 2.4 built. I've finally got everything in the car and hooked up. Here's the basic mod list.
99 Gsx
built g4cs
ported head with bc 280 cams, supertech dual springs
cop ignition
jm smim
q45 tb
ecmlink v3
fic 1050's
gm maft
I guess that's about all of the pertinent info. Here's the problems I'm having so far. I thought I was about ready to fire the car up. First I just did an ignition on check. The fuel pump came on, but it stayed on. ( "activate fuel pump" is not checked on link) It's not shutting off with just the key on. That lead to me finding a fuel leak, so I took care of that. Turned the key on and again the fuel pump just stays on, so I pulled the fuse for the fuel pump and went to try to set the tps. As I'm having trouble getting that set (If it's 0 idle, then it's not 100 wot. If it's set to 100 wot, then it's not at 0 for idle... whatever, I'll try to get that figured out later). As I'm leaning across the engine, something burns my arm. Turns out the coils 1 & 4 are hot. What would cause these things with just the key turned on? Also for anyone running the q45 tb, what did you do with your upper heater hose? My throttle pulley was hitting that causing me to not be able to go wot, for the time being I've just got the hose pulled off and tucked out of the way but I'd like to have heat during the winter.
The fuel pump rewire was done back before the car went out of commision and worked like it was supposed to then. The new stuff since last time it was running is the entire motor from valve cover to oil pan, the injectors, intake and exhaust manifold, throttle body, injectors, jayracing alternator relocation, ecu was upgraded to dsmlink v3, rre cas harness. I'll eventually go back and double check all my wiring stuff, but I was pretty thorough with all that and soldered all my connections.
So short version is: With just the key turned on fuel pump constantly runs and cop coils 1 & 4 get hot. Where should I start with this? Thanks for any help.
