No spark on coils 1&4!!! help!!

Ok guys so for the 1000 time im here again asking my questions... I seem to not get any spark from coils 1&4... I went throw some threads of similar problems to see if by any change I could find the solution and well this is what I got so far.. I check and replaced the coils and well.. no solution, I also checked the spark plug wires and same.. another I read was that there is a chance that it might be my CAS.. I have a GSX so it should be by the cam gears if Im not mistaking.. well I think the previous owner changed it to a 95-96 since it is now on the left of the valve cover (its the triangle looking one not the 1g). The thing is that im not sure if the owner put it back on right so I was wondering if any of you guys could tell me how this goes connected. Also which wires are used and what else does it have to be changed to work properly... Also, do any of you guys have any other odea of what is causing my 1&4 coil not to get any spark? I would really appreciate anyones help.. Im in despirate need in getting these issues fixed!! THANKS!!!

So your 2 & 3 coil still work? Cause when my CAS went I had no spark in any cylinder, or any fuel either.

Are you still getting fuel?

Yeah im getting fuel and coil 2&3 still work.. its just 1&4 that are not working.. i changed the coils but still the same problem..

Check your power transistor and the connections on your coil pack:

If possible, borrow a working power transistor from someone. Here's a picture of where your power transistor sits.

Also, check that all of the connections on your coil pack "box" have a good contact.

Look in the repair manual, assuming you have one like you should. They have the values you need to go by when checking it. You use a multimeter and go through the procedures as described in the manual..

Your problem really does sound like the power transistor.

Either borrowing a known working power transistor from a friend or checking your current power transistor (pin by pin with a multimeter) could both prove that the power transistor is your problem but both seems a bit too time consuming for what it's worth.

You could try checking the classifieds section of this website for someone selling a second-hand unit, that seems a little more efficient to me.

When my transister kept coming unplugged it never threw a code. But when my injector clip broke and fell off it took it 4 miles to throw me a code while I was looking at Link trying to figure out WTH was going on.

We don't use a distributor on anything but the 1G 1.8L SOHC engines.

The OP says he has a GSX so he doesn't have a distributor.

Make sure the electrical connector to your power transistor is fully seated. I had a similar problem when the connector on my power transistor worked itself loose at one side. The car suddenly began running on only two cylinders. Apparently, I failed to fully seat the connector when I reinstalled the head after replacing a bent valve. Unfortunately, like you, I had already gone through the process of changing out the coils without correcting the problem before I discovered the loose connector.

Well it ended up being my power transistor.. so in case anyone ever has the same problem as I experienced always check if you have any spark and if you dont check the coils and power transistor... Im sure that would probably solve others problems.. Thanks again for everyones help!!!
