first off, I wish I would have discovered this site sooner! Has helped me so much. I picked up a 95 eclipse gs auto for a great deal a couple months ago drove fine till recently, so far I've replaced fuel filter, pump, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, spark plugs, plug wires, coil pack, computer, air filter, fixed a few vaccume leaks all in the past month..So the story of what happened.... Driving to work, not even close to ragging on it, got a mile down the road, died at a light (it's been dying once a morning, usually at a light when it hits low rpm. other than that the check engine light would turn off and start to spit and sputter and act all crazy for 10 seconds and then back like nothing ever happened) so I fired it back up, all of a sudden it was vibrating real bad like a motor mount went. I went to take off and it barely got up to speed, sounds funky and vibrates like a sob, so I got it home later that day, won't idle unless the motor is warmed up, and when it is idling it's still vibrating real bad and having a hard time idling and might die. I checked my wires and plugs all signs point to 1 and 4, (wires and plugs are good, but no spark or weak spark.) I did notice that after removing the plug from 1 it was getting gas, and 4 looked a bit dry. I have tried multiple coil packs, The ignition fuse is good, I don't see any bad wires. What do I do or check?

You put a new new coil pack on? IF you are certain there is NO spark on 1 and 4, it seems like a coil issue. It's a waste spark system that fires 1&4, then 2&3 at the same time. both cylinders being out makes me believe a coil issue. But it is also possible there is something wrong with the coil driver circuit that controls the coil. I would test that connector and make sure you have the correct voltages & grounds.

Hope it helps!

i got a coil pack from autozone and it didn't make a difference, so I figured there is a slight chance I got a bad one or one that someone returned, so I went to oriellys and picked up another, still no change. Before I did all that I checked the plugs with a spark plug tester, I noticed 2&3 lit up bright as could be. 1&4 just barely light up. At first I didn't even see the light, until it got a little darker outside I could see that it was but very faintly. Please keep in mind I'm no master mechanic and I really do appreciate every little bit. I don't have a volt meter, but I do have a test light. Is it possible to test the pins on the ecu with that? Also what is the right way as to how to test those? I've already gotten a new one and can't afford another 290$ computer. Also, today I went out and took a look at my crankshaft sensor hoping I had crimped a wire wrong, I didn't see anything bad with that, I did however notice that I had a red wire to my alternator that had the jacket melted off about a half inch, any chance that could be causing an issue? I'll be fixing it in the morning anyways.
