Hi, Im looking to get some help and input on my issue with no spark on cylinders 1 and 4. So far I have ruled out the possibilities that it could be the coil pack or power transistor pack. I have tested these and they check out okay. While doing so I checked to see if I was getting a trigger signal from the ECM to power transistor pack for cylinders 1 & 4 and sure enough I had no signal at all. So I started diagnosing the the Cam angle sensor, crank position sensor and the wiring in between.
The trigger wire from the ECM to the power transistor pack had continuity and nearly no resistance.
Here are my test results from diagnosing the CAS
CAS disconnected & voltages at plug w/key on
Red- 12.6V (battery voltage)
Blue - 5.02V
Black - 0 resistance & 0V
CAS connected to harness w/ key on
Red - 12.6V (battery voltage)
Blue - 5.02V
CAS while cranking
Blue - 4.4V
Here are my test results from diagnosing the CPS
CPS disconnected & voltages at plug w/ key on
Red- 12.6V (battery voltage)
Blue - 5.02V
Black - 0 resistance & 0V
CPS connected to harness w/ key on
Red - 12.6V (battery voltage)
Blue - 0.19V
CPS while cranking
Blue - 1.35V
The blue wire on the CAS seems to have high voltage while cranking any ideas or suggestions as to why? Also not sure if the voltage is proper on the blue CPS wire with the harness plugged in and the key on. Any suggestions on where to start looking/do next would be awesome.
The car is a 97 eagle talon TSI AWD
& it is not throwing any codes
Thanks in advance,
