I ran out of gas the other day, but I thought it was something else. So I got gas and when I get gas I always let the fuel pump prime when gettin gas. But now im not hearing nothin and my spark plugs are very white. The car still ruins my car spools really late. When it finally spools to 10psi it feels okay and its not a boost leak, changed plugs and wires. Could my fuel pump be bad? When I rev it up its fine but when I drive it the rpms are real stuttery. I know if I was to try to launch the car would go no where. Also when the rpms are going down im gettin Really Loud back fires. So far my worst upgrade ever was this dam turbo setup I had 16gs before and my car pulled like crazy now its a nightmare.

Sounds like your pump is gone. I would first change out the fuel filter since i bet its never been changed, its most likely clogged. If that didn't solve the problem change your fuel pump. what fuel pump do you have in it now ?

Walbro 255 phl hp. I dont have a Adjustable fuel pressure regulator but the car always ran fine without, im ordering that now. Above 4k it seems to be a fine. Im going to change the fuel filter now ill post back if that does it thanks for the respond.

Every 1g I have been in(including mine) does not have the pump turn on until the engine is cranking. Because of this I would think that no 1g primes the pump with the key in the on position. Also there is a feature in dsmlink to make the pump turn on when the key is in the on position. That would also make me think they don't prime on a 1g when the key is in the on position.

Exactly correct.

The 1G ECU does not prime the fuel pump with the key in the "on" position. It waits for input from the CAS. When the CAS begins to spin, the pump is activated.

My info confirms this. I had a bad MPI relay. In all of my research and experience with that, the pump doesn't run when the key is just in the on position.

I dont I looked at some threads some people say their do some people say they dont. Mine always did so it has to be some reason why it stopped. I guess im going to see if I change the MPI relay and see if it makes a difference.

Unless you have DSMlink, or some other engine management with a "Fuel Pump Prime" feature your 1G will NOT prime with the key on.

The "some people say" the pumps primes with the key on are 2G users. All 2G's prime with the key "on". 1G's must wait for the intake cam to turn the CAS. Then the pump fires. You can always rig up a relay to turn it on earlier.

Jeffgst knows what he is talking about. I have not read a single thing from him that I would question on here or Dsmlink forums.
