Thanks for the info! It already had the regulator installed when I bought the car. There's no name on the guage but I think I can make out BWR on the side (it's scuffed) but I think I may go with a new FuelLab just to know it's in good condition and installed correctly. Im getting alot of backfires and can smell Fuel so ima start there and work my way out. What fuel pump are you running? You may be able to get away with the factory regulator if you're running 14psi on a turbo. If you want an aftermarket adjustable, then any of the bigger names will work time. Fuel lab, Aeromotive, etc.
Thanks I just responded to him. I've never installed one because I ran stock in my precious cars but now im fixing problems caused by previous ownersIm running a Fuelab mini. I like the smaller size.
Agree with @MindBlowin03 's questioning. The need for a afpr isnt based on turbo psi, its based on the size of your fuel pump. If youre running a stock or Evo pump, or walbro 190, you dont need one, the stock fpr works just fine and you can spend the money elsewhere until you need it. Ive known some people to get away with running a walbro 255 on a few occassions but its not recommended... Something like my aeromotive 340, absolutely not. I was fine driving it on the way home, but once i put the car in reverse to back into the garage, car started smoking and a whiff of raw fuel. Flooded everything. Oil smelled like fuel.. had to change it out. So it depends on your future goals for the car.
