I just bought a 94 talon tsi and the previous owner installed a Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator.ive never installed one nor used one but I can now smell fuel in the car and the and the only place I can find out where is coming from is the fuel pressure regulator. Because that is the only place that I can smell it under the hood and also the gauge on the fuel bressure regulator has fuel it side it is that normal if not what would I need to do to fix that

can you identify which of the ports the fuel is coming from? theres 4 ports. 1 for inlet, 1 for the gas tank, 1 to the gauge, and one thats used as a block off, and a vacuum line that runs out of the top.

The fuel pressure regulator is suppose to run gas through it to regulate what you deem fit. The gauge itself i have never heard of or seen fuel inside it only the liquid that is suppose to be in it to keep measurements steady. Whoever put it in may have not had things tight and now its leaking or fumes are escaping, you could add lock tape to the threads to get a better seal.

Gauge could be liquid filled (see post above)

As for the FPR, with the car running are there any leaks? If not, it could be from the fuel lines themselves. What type of lines are they? Most aftermarket AN lines will smell like fuel, even though they don't leak. Only way to have AN lines that have zero fuel smell, is to use teflon lined AN hose.
