Fuel Injectors for 16g

I have a question for you guys...

I have a 97 GST Automatic and i've upgraded my turbo to a 16G. It's an automatic so this car is not used to race, and I only upgraded the turbo because it was gift and my GarrettT25 started putting out clouds of white smoke. Now that the 16g is installed, i've been told i HAVE to upgrade the fuel injectors for this car to work properly. Is this true? Or are fuel injectors only for maxing out the horsepower and PSI of 16g turbo?

You don't have to upgrade the injectors if you keep the turbo at the wastegate's stock pressure. Once you start turning it up then you'll need to upgrade the fuel.

Your stock injectors will be fine for the 16G. To use the full pontentail of the 16G , you will have to upgrade the injectors and the fuel pump.

if you wan to get injectors. look for a set of evo injectors. i think there about 560cc.

Depends on the 16g. If it's an ebay 16g (i.e. td05 16g, not a td05h 16g with a real 16g serial number), you probably will blow it up before the turbo reaches a shaft speed that will put more ain in the motor than the stock 450s can handle .

Fuel upgrades are only needed of you Plan on turning the boost up and getting more power from the 16g. But I will say it will be slightly laggier mainly cause its a bigger turbo.

Agreed! As long as you keep it at stock levels, you'll be ok. If you plan on turning up the boost, get at least a 190 pump and 550cc injectors.

Thanks for all your responses, this information saved me a lot of money. In response to dsm-onster, yes its an ebay 16g and Hopefully it wont blow out before injectors would be needed . To Red4g6s/skatershawn - i wont be using it to its full potential, so the stock injectors so im assuming the stock injectors will suffice for now

I'm going to agree with her. I've done alot of research on upgrading my own to the 16g and this is what I was planning on running. With the fuel pressure turned up a bit, not sure exactly to what, you should be able to run 20psi with ease with that setup. Hope that helps. Later.
