Hey was up. I was wondering what are the bare minimums I need to support my Big 16G turbo. I just recently bought the car so I dont have that much money but would like to upgrade the fuel system since thats probably the last mod I have to do before turning the boost up. My car has a Greddy FMIC, Greddy hard piping, Greddy BOV, 3in exhaust, Greddy Boost Controller and Turbo Timer, and Auto-Meter Ultra lite gauges. I just wanted to know the minimum I have to get for fuel support and if I really have to get an Safc or something like that because those are really expensive  . But thanks for your help and advice in advance.

You could do fine with stock fuel mods, but you can't turn up the boost much. If you want to run higher boost, you'll need minimum injectors, pump, and yes an safc and logger for tuning. I suggest getting on the evo forums and picking up an evo 8 or 9 injectors and fuel pump and rewire it (check the vfaq). They're really cheap from evo owners upgrading.

What you want depends on the amount of boost you intend on running. If you aren't going to turn it up much past 15, you'd be ok getting stock EVO injectors, which you can find for under $200...sometimes you see them for around $100. Also, going that way you'd be ok getting a stock fuel pump from a 3000gt vr4 or something similar, which would cost you around $50. It all depends on how cheap you really want to go, and what boost level you are looking at. AFC is definitely recommended, as is a datalogger.

If you really want to max out the 16G you should get 660cc or higher injectors, but then it will be harder to tune with the SAFC. A rewired evo pump flows close to the walbro 190 and should last you a while even if you decide to go bigger later on. I picked mine up for 40 shipped with 5k on it. A used SAFC goes for around 200, so expect to pay around 500 + tuning unless you know how.

550's, 190lph pump (or better), and an SAFC or something to control fuel with. That's the safe minimum and will also work well for you.

About the Safc...Which 1 should I get, the Safc I, Safc II or the New AFC Neo???

If you dont want to use the SAFC you could find a Eprom ECU and get a custom burned chip set for your upgrades. Just a thought.

There should be a short black tube going from the BOV to the intake pipe. If there isn't, then put one on. You shouldn't be venting, unless you're running a gm maf and a maft. It's about $400 and you don't need it unless you feel like spending all that money just for the sound. If you want to know why, do a search or prepare to be flamed.

Like stated before, He could use the MAFT for tuning as well.

Ok, taxes are about to come in and I'm ready to get some more power. Im going to get the upgraded fuel pump and the injectors. Now my question is If I get 550cc's, 255 fuel pump and an AFC how many horses can I expect with the mods I already have (from above). Also If I opt to go a little more expensive, and since I know afc isnt too good with 660cc's injectors, I was looking at the dsmlink. MY second question is If I order the dsmlink package off of dsmlink.com, would I need anything else besides a laptop to run it and how many horses could that set up push out. Thanks alot for the help, I'm planning on getting everything ready in about a month.

You are asking about horsepower number potential with these mods and i think you are getting the wrong idea. Judging from your profile, it seems like you are still on a stock engine. People have pushed the stock 7 bolt 4g63 like in your car from 400 to 500 MAX. Other than that, your gonna have to go forged internals with a performance rebuild to handle more boost, fuel, and in turn ... Power.
Your other limitation is your 16g turbo which has been proven to max out at 375 WHP.
With the pump, afc, and 650 cc injectors, you can easily get that out of your stock block, and max out the turbo at 375. Thats already reaching the stock motor limitation.
You will do fine without dsmlink for now. Good luck buddy :thumb:

Thanks for the help...I think Im gonna go with 650cc injectors, I would like a 255 fuel pump ( or mayb a rewired 190, would the 190 restrict me here??), an safcII. Also how much is a decent price for a tune???

PS: If I have a choice between buying the safcII or the new AFC Neo would there be any advantage to buying the Neo or is it just better looking??

The neo has a vtech controller and is flashy, dont buy it. The 190lph will be perfect for your setup.

Is there anything else I will need. Im probably gonna get a pocketlogger. Will I need an MAFT to be able to support the 650cc injectors?
