I have a Big 16g turbo on my awd 1g, and I was curious about supporting mods for it. I don't plan on upgrading to another turbo anytime soon, since I'm in college and I don't feel like spending that much money. I have a few supporting mods:

-Nippon 550cc injectors
-Re-wired 255 lph pump
-Safc 2
-Boost controller
-And a few gauges, boost and egt.

I don't want to really push the limits of any part of my setup, so I was wondering what other mods would be recommended that I get.

-AFR w/ gauge, I heard a re-wired 255 can over ride the stock FPR
-2g mas, I've also heard that this will almost compensate for the 550's
-Fmic, is it worth it? Could I simply use hardpipes on my smic? What size pipes would work for a setup like this.
-Exhaust after o2 housing. 2.5" or 3"? Which would be the ideal size?
-Ported 2g manifold, I have the manifold already, but is it worth having it ported?

Basically what I'm asking is, what stock parts are being pushed to near their limits with a setup like this?

thanks :thumb:

-With the rewired 255 you will need the AFPR (I assume that's what you mean) for sure.
-The 2g mas is most definitely better than the 1g, but you won't necessarily need it until you start overrunning the 1g mas. If you do do this however, power to you.
-An upgraded exhaust manifold (2g ported or unported will be fine) will help, as the 1g ones tend to crack and develop pre-turbo boost leaks.
-Get a bigger O2 housing, either by porting or aftermarket and then go on to a 3" exhaust after that.
-The FMIC will most definitely be helpful to you, as the 16g will heat soak the stock SMIC after only a few pulls especially once it gets warmer. To save money, I'd suggest piecing together your own kit.

Yeah, get a 3" exhaust, no one is ever happy with the 2.5". And a clutch like a 2100 or a 2600. As far as an intercooler Id get a front mount or a supra side mount/ hard upper IC piping. The front mount is better if you plan on upgrading the turbo but a supra side mount is easier to install and way cheaper and will do just as good with a 16G. You'll also want a better bov if you plan on boosting over 18 psi.

thanks guys!! that exactly what I was looking for.

Another question about the clutch, Could a Southbend Rally hold that power? Because thats what I have right now, and it only has about 3k miles on it.

According to the website it says that your clutch holds 1/3 more torque than stock. As far as what that means to you, drive on it and if it slips then upgrade if not then you're fine. This still uses an organic disk however, so you will have to be careful with heat dissipation between launches.
