I have a walbro 190 and i feel like i should be able to hold a steady 15 but it can only hold about 13 without feeling weird or fuel cutting

I have the CX racing 2.5 inch intercooler piping kit and a 3inch Air INtake with K&N Filter Would this be too Much AIR not enough FUEL? should i rewire the pump or is it because my 480 injectors are 20 years old and need new ones?

im trying to smash on my friends tho and there capable of turning there boost to 20lbs maybe because the 190 is just not half as good as the 255? but i dont know there just dipping way hard and leave me wondering why my car is so slow

^^ Like he said, at this point your injectors are pretty wore out and probly close to maxed out. Some 550 or 650s and a safc+pocketlogger should be on your to buy list for upwards of 15psi. Dont forget a wideband!!

I hope your not doing this on the streets! Its highly forbidden on this site. Also what about all your basic maintenance, plugs, wires, timing belt, oil etc.. Has all of that been complied with?

Doing what on the street? racing on the street?

and yes im trying to get some sorf of runing hardware, im thinking abotu picking up the evo 560s and getting a safc or getting dsm link im kinda wanting the dsm link but the same time i wanna be able to spend my money on some good parts that will be most effective and will be most beneficial

and i guess my car isnt slow but it just not as fast as the other stock talons and ive been working on mine...

Fuel cut is brought about by the MAF/ECU seeing too much airflow. You can upgrade your fuel components all day long and it will still fuel cut. There is no way to eliminate it other than telling the ECU not to do it, via DSMLink or a pre-configured EEPROM chip. An SAFC will just raise the fuel cut point, but that's a retarded way to tune. You gain fuel control but lose timing control. A boost leak will easily cause a low fuel cut point, but you have an exhaust, intake, and a better-than-stock-flowing intercooler, so I'd expect nothing is really wrong. It's not forbidden to race on the streets on this site, just to talk about it :)

Tuning IS the most beneficial thing in upgrades. You can slap on parts all you want but if the tune is crap the car won't make power.

Yes, I hope when you say "Im trying to smash on my friends" your saying that your doing this at a track!

As for the DSMlink, if your wanting some good tuning software and something that will be benificial then this is what you want! Yes a SAFC can get up upwards of 300whp but DSMlink has so many more useful things to use then just fuel and air control. I would suggest saving up and buying it!

yeah makes since to me i feeel i have more air flow then normal and more acceleration then normal just a limited boost point, maybe my Eprom ecu has been flashed or something i dont know but I think dsmlink is the route i wanna go with and get injectors, Im also debaiting on putting this turbo i got in it i think its either a 18g or a 16g its in the td05H housing but it is way way biggrr then my little 14b...
as far as maintence i check my fluids every time i get in my car, change plugs and wires and belts regualrly I take care of my cars.:thumb: (except when i am launching on drifting around corners :hellyeah:

Do a boost leak test. If there are none, don't even put a bigger turbo on because it will just lower the PSI at which you will be hitting fuel cut, if that's even what the problem is. Does it hit a brick wall, or just break up like a misfire?

Yep, do a boost leak test. Most likely alot of your issues will be resolved there.

dont think thats my isssue but ill give it a shot when i get out of school later my buddy made one a few months back

I also got my exhaust and its 2 3/4 inch all the way back down to the muffler and i think at the muffler it changes to 2 inch at the flange, now i was thinking this would cause less air to release and would be restricting potential power

I would definitely get that small flange out of there, but that shouldn't be the root of the problem. Not that far down the line in the exhaust system, anyway.

I would do a blt if no leaks stay at stock boost until you have the proper up-grades and Maintenance done or your car will go down hill fast. Your 190 re-wire WITH supporting mods should be fine around 20psi

Boost leak test to 25 psi while using a spray bottle of soapy water will give you accurate test results. No other method should be done to test for leaks.

Just a heads up again, do you insinuate anything that would relate your driving to street racing or the like "except when i am launching on drifting around corners". Your thread will be either locked or deleted if it's persistent.

Is your profile up to date? The 14b (assuming you are manual) should not be getting you to hit fuel cut at 15psi with the fuel map on the ECU. The 13g on the other hand (smaller on the auto tranny) may hit fuel cut at those numbers due to a difference in the stock fuel map (but I doubt it would fuel cut honestly).

As said above, do a thorough boost leak test and go from there. I can guarantee that you have at least one leak which is attributing to your issues.

BTW, plugs should be NGK BPR6ES 0.028" gap

well my car is the 90 gsx, i bought it with a moter swap done in it, it has a eprom ecu, the moter and tranny are from a 92 talon ts i still have the 90 intake manifold though maybe the ecu's Fuel map is wrong or something i think its a 90 ecu still i was going to try and change my fuel filter and maybe try cleaning my injectors

Also Pickedup a boost leak tester from my buddy and ill run the test tomorrow:thumb:
