Can you put it in the front windshield?

Off topic, does anyone know if that is legal in New Jersey?
Technically no, but I have talked to people who do it without getting tickets. Here is mine, I've never been pulled over, but it could be the fact I have FOP plates. Otherwise, get involved with local legislation to change front plate laws in your state, I did for Ohio. :thumb:

Take a look where the stock side mount should be.

You could do what the c5 corvettes do and have a built in license plate holder like where the eagle emblem is:-/

I had mine on a flap in the mouth that would flip up at speed and re-deploy when slowing. I changed to a slope mount. Two brackets that pinch around the bumper cover to hold the plate at an angle.

Just take it off!! I live in CA where its required and have had the front plate off for 4.5 years! In that time I got one fix it ticket for it. I put the plate back on, had a sherrif sign off on it and paid the fine (10 bucks I think?). Then I took the plate back off. Just lose it! It looks better and your not really gambling anything if you get caught without it.

Misouri you have to have one. But I have not had my front plate on since I bought the car in Aug. of 04'. Been pulled over one time. I made a little lie :shhh:

I told the cop that some one backed into my car, I got a new bumper and had it painted. I tried to go to the Dealership to order myself a Licence Plate Bracket. But it never came in.

The cop believed it and told me to go on my way LOL!

hey that's pretty creative^^^ :thumb: something tells me that you didn't think of that on the spot :D . yeah, i would work out my lies beforehand, then use them to my advantage :coy: whatever.

i believe its mandatory in MA. last summer i had my plate stuck in between the windshield and the dash. went to get an inspection sticker and the mullet guy almost didn't give me one. what an ass :notgood: i was about to tell him to cram it, but i restrained myself and said thax for the advice. it didn't get my day off to a good start, to say the least

I live in Mn. where is also require, month after i bought
the car i got pulled over for no liscense plate, also got
a fix it ticket, the only thing that saved me from a
ticket was that the dealer where i bought the car didn't
give me the front plate for it, cause they lost it, so they
had to go get new ones, for now the plate sits on my
front windshield till i get a bracket done for it.... :thumb:

In the states that its mandatory to have one, is it OK to put it in the windsheild?

I used mine to direct airflow on the left side of my front end. Works like a champ, looks stupid as Hell.

i had my plates there before and still got a "fix-it" ticket. the ticket was for "improperly displayed" plates.

the fog light bulb died and i didn't bother replacing it, now the plate sits over where the fog light is on the driverside. here in NY, i haven't seen a corvette with front plates. do they have some sort of "special priviledges", so the aerodynamics of the car is not ruined? :barf:

They pay more car taxes so for some odd reason cops let em get away with that. Personally I wish we could change to the long narrow plate design they use in europe. those look pretty cool IMO.

For anyone wondering if its legal to have your front license plate in the winshield, here is the 411.

IN WA I asked a cop, and he showed me on his computer in the car (wasn't arrested or nothing) in the RCW code it says it has to be at least 3ft from the ground, so if its in your winsheild and that is more than three feet off the ground ILLEGAL. If it is at 3ft or below LEGAL.

I've decided to go ahead and take it off when I get that intercooler, if somone asks I'll make something up or go pay the fix it ticket.

Just ask the cop if he would drill his new bumper to put a licence plate there if he had your car... LOL!

A cop pulled in behind me right when i parked my car and told me i was doing a u-turn too fast or some BS, he asked me about it and i played dumb like i didnt know it was supposed to be on. He then said "well it is illeagal son" then i just told him when i bought the car used i didnt get the mounting hardware and he didn't do shit about it..... not even a fix it

I just have mine strewn about somewhere in the car. It mandatory in MO but no one really cares. Ive been pulled over for it once and I just said it fell off. They have better things to do than hassle people about a useless front plate.

I have never had mine on for a year or so. Never pulled over or bothered with in cali, I even drive by cops all the time. I was thinking about cutting out just the letters and drilling it on the lip from the top of the cut out on the 2gb bumper though.

for those with stock 2gb and probably 2ga stock bumpers have a new way of mounting it. I went to my local mitsu dealer and ordered the evo plate bracket for the front. Take the bracket home do little sanding to the upper lip of the bracket to get it to perfectly match the contours of the bumper(its almost perfect as is). And then there you go a front plate that is mounted off to the side away from the intercooler, you can't get pulled over and harrased for it and you won't have to worry about popping your hood.

The other reason they're illegal on the dash is that light reflected from the windshield make them usually unreadable.

isn't that a good thing.................... LOL!

Geez, I wish the cops here in oregon were that lenient, I got pulled over twice in one day for not having it. I just put it on where there we already two holes in the bumper, and I run into the damn thing everytime I am walking past the car.
